W's 28, celebated this old pig another yr of wisdom at dozo 7 course dinner for $59.80++ so im officially done with these 3 affilliates groups, tao's restaurant juju hokkaido hotpot dozo fine modern jap :) shld have told them its a bday celebation cuz it'll be a diff ending to dat day's dinner :(
spacious seating arrangement with attentive staff who clears your plate after every course and brings up e next course promptly. the moment W sat down he cant stop munching on the fried soba and 2 rounds to that small bottle -.- they spend time explaining the dishes either how it was cook/how it shld be eaten and that makes them pretty much like e chef who whipped it up. a pleasant dining experience from start to end, every course was exquisitely presented, like a mini surprise :)
chef selection of assorted platter : seared scallop, foie gras, smoke salmon. sweetjuicy foaming scallop wins. i still cant appreciate foie gras like how some ppl just hate durians.
cold dishes : king crab claw salad with sesame vinaigrette & smoked duck breast with cranberry vanetta. 1 huge succulent crabmeat we have to divide :( but i haf all e finely sliced duckkie to me glutton much =X
side dishes : gratinated escargots topped with yuzu butter & tempura battered soft shell crab on mash potato. e escargots was served in 2 ways, yuzu butter in e cup and garlic butter in e shell, flawless! its my 1st time seeing softshellcrab served as a whole like in a crab shape instead of chopped legs.
soups : clam soup & crab bisque cappuccino style. i chose e clam w/o hesitation thinking it was clam chowder and e crab bisque was frothy and crabby smell was a tad pungent :((
mains : baked atlantic cod fish & kurubuta pork cheek with onion jam. pork cheek texture is just like his cheek, fleshy and soft (prolly not e soft part) e fresh cod fish is lying on a bed of mash potato, cant get enough of dat.
desserts : baked warm chocolate & mochi with green tea icecream. nothing special.
drinks : iced mallow apple melody & iced rose lemon tea. refreshing! pretty looking tea dat makes me ridiculously contented after every sip :)
